FSC® certification
Our teak is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®. Here is what that actually means, and the certificates behind it.
In plain language
What FSC® certification means
FSC® is an independent standard for responsible forestry. An accredited auditor visits the plantation, checks it against the standard, and returns year after year to check again. Certification is not a label you buy once — it lapses the moment the practice does.
Forest management
How the land is managed: which trees are cut, what is left standing, how watercourses and native reserves are protected.
People
How workers are paid, housed and kept safe, and how neighbouring communities are consulted and compensated.
Chain of custody
Certified timber is tracked from stump to shipment, so what arrives is provably what left the plantation.
